The Singing Nevin

Once upon a time,I went through a withdrawal period after being hit with one issue after another. I was deeply depressed and couldn't have cared less. I have screwed lucked! Pyschics told me that I was cursed. They concluded with;Someone gave you the evil eye. Okay,fine! This is my life;"If it was raining soup,my bowl would have a hole in it and I'd have a fork."
"If I was in a race someone would trip me at the finish line." My best woe of woos is "I'm standing on stage singing my big finale when the floor drops from under me and I fall through with the lights,the set,and curtin stage falling behind me." Ouch!Double ouch as I write for the better. With me after going through crap I say to myself;! I'm done with it,time to move on. Me? I started sessions with a shrink and therapist to leave my emotional baggage in thier office. Why both? I know how I am! The darling pair can console one another and plot my demise. Just Kidding! I blacken the evil eye with prayer and prayed the pins out of the voo-doo doll. I have the greatest power of all and that power is God. Comfort,Wisdom,and Strenght were prayed on my behalf. At the time I didn't want it. Why? Becuase I wanted to prove to TNT that my DRAMA was better than theirs. Bring it on Bitches! I won,they lost,screw it! Time to move on! I'm carrying my cross and following Jesus filled with the Holy Spirit with God by my side. And where was I led to you ask?
To the Trax Bar in Kent,Wa for Karaoke night like I've done in the past. Only this time,the Vibe was born with new managers Dave and Jason quite the pair! I sing in the Church choir which is why I can belt it out like the best of them. I have a voice range like Ethel Merman and Kate Smith. They didn't sing to the wal,they sang through the wall. You didn't put them in a choir,they were the CHOIR!Yes gang,in the very beginning I drowned out choirs and everyone else in church.I was blessed with a Voice and Singing as my BFF! Now I can sing along without drowning out the choir. I blow it on occasion like last week when my fellow Brother told me that I was LOUD today! OPPs! Alright,back to the Saga at pen.I always have a signuture song to entertain my following with along with a second as an encore. Hey,I know how to work a room! 3 years later,Jason and David aren't the pair anymore.Casey is now at the bat for the Vibe with her hitting a grand slam with a new look,touch,feel,a new menu that's delicious,free pool,fooz ball,air hockey,video games,and pinball.
3 years ago I belted out "When You're Good to Nevin,Nevin's good to you!" From the musical Chicago,Queen L. sang it in the movie version. Which is where I borrowed it from as a encore I sang "Rapture" by Blondie. 3 years later,I'm on You Tube as "The Singing Nevin belting out;"When you're good to Nevin!" Followed by The Return of the Singing Nevin;rapping "Gold Digger" by you know who.I got tired of sitting in the house watching t.v. and being in a bummed out mood. I went out and made a social evening for myself while interacting with my Peers. The Singing Nevin was born on my journey that I took off on. I started volunteering of Gay City Seattle 4 days a week in March. This is the end of August,my birthday to be exact. For my great performance at Gay City Seattle,I'm the Lead Libarian for the LGBT Library and Resource and Referral Line. I'm also going to have a support group and an HIV 101 Class. Everything you need to know to stay healthly and well with the Virus. I still got it going on at 56! You go Boy!

Support Your Local Gay Venues!

The majority of the Gay Community does not support its Own Events,Organizations,and Businesses which is a shame. Without support all of the above mentioned fail thus ending its purpose. I'm writing this forum to gain support for a great service offered by Gay City Health that's needed in our community.
Gay City Health Project is a multicultural gay men's health organization located in Seattle, WA and the leading provider of HIV and STD testing in King County. Our mission is to promote the health of gay and bisexual men (including those who are transgender) and prevent HIV transmission by building community, fostering communication, and nurturing
self-esteem.
Gay City has to its avail a Lesbian,Gay,Bi,&Tran Library. That's right,a LGBT Library that has over 2,000 books! Free checkout with ID lets you check out the books of your choice in all genres and touches on every topic.
Gay City also has a LGBT Resources and Referrals that connects you with LGBT organizations and services.Visit our website or give us a call and we'll do our best to get you the information you need. (206)323-LGBT.
There is a need for the services offered by Gay City. Case in point a Transgender who just moved here from out of town needed resources about Transgenders and where to go for a gay friendly church. Not only did she get the information that she needed she made a new friend with the Librarian who assisted her and made her feel welcome.The Gay City LGBT Library is member generated which means that it needs members to become successful.
The Gay Community needs to make start making a change for the better starting with each and every person. By becoming involved one can live a Gay Lifestyle complete with events and activities. Instead of banding together once a year for Gay Pride one should band together throughout the year with the same zeal and zeal. Nothing beats a failure but a try!
